When Prince was good, he was great, but when he was bad, he was even better. That maxim is exemplified on his rock-soul anthem I Would Die 4 U from the iconic film and album, Purple Rain. The song verges on unholy as it sets the protagonist up as a sexual and spiritual saviour – or possibly something darker.

Here, Sandi Glowe takes the Prince classic and gives it an added and very different meaning. It sees her stripping out the raw carnality of the original and replacing it within a more contemplative sound, which Sandi says was inspired by the music of Art School Girlfriend.
